    Laptop Wireless help

    Evening guys,

Hoping for a little help from the IT guys tonight.

My girlfriend purchased a new laptop a few months ago. When she is round at my house she uses it for internet browsing my connecting to our wireless network. About a month ago she started experiencing problems with the connection. Windows can see the network (says the strength is good to excellent) but when she goes to connect it says there is limited availability. Any suggestions why? My PC runs off the wireless and has no difficulty connecting.

Our router is a BT Homehub (if that helps).

    Thanks,
    Ben

I'm no expert by a long way lol. But could it be conflicting I.P address with other computers already connected to the router?

Guess you have tried the basics like right clicking and repairing the connection, re-booting router etc.

click start, click run and type CMD and hit enter, then type ipconfig /release, then type ipconfig /renew and try again.

Turn off windows firewall, if it still dont work create a new connection from scratch.

    This is simple,
Have you set up encripted connection WEP/WAP, the error message is crap and could be anything but it generally a sine that the router security setting have been changed.
How ever I have noticed an issue with modem drivers/network software needing to be reinstalled when routers are changed.
I'm like a bad penny, old, dirty, and appears when not wanted.

It may be the case that the connection has been cached on the laptop and the settings have changed on the router (as AJB2K3 suggests). you should try deleting the connection and attempt to connect to it from fresh.
