    egr valve gasket

    i was just about to remove the egr valve to give it a clean when i realised i dont have a new gasket. does this really matter or can i just use the old one.

    i just bought a new one they only 99p from vauxhall but if you dont wanna buy a new one use a cereal box with a think layer of oil covering it to seal

    do you know what the original gasket is made of. iv been told if its made of paper then its likely to crumble as i remove it but if its made of rubber it should be ok?

    its metal, and mine was 60p-£1 from vx, but you can re use the old one though

    yeah mines metal as well. to be fair though the old one wasnt in too bad condition but i thought if im doin sumet may as well do it properly. still no problems 2 days later so hopefully its sorted other than the eml light
