    ratterly engine

    Jus de-restricted the airbox, gave it a lil once around the block, however without blareing my musak, when i put my foot to the floor, i can hear a rattle coming out the engine, its quite extreme, dont get a nice roar, more like a mega rattle. Any help would be grealty appricated

    Sorry to hijack your thread but what's the easiest way to get those pipes out... as last time i tried i just ended up swearing at it for ages, then put it back defeated

    it sounds like something has come loose on the exhaust, really dont have the money to take it into the garage to find out just yet

    Mine had a rattle at the front, which sounded like it was on the exhaust, turned out my CAT had collapsed inside.

    it might be that you may have not put the airbox back properly, i.e. in the 2 clips at the back, and 1 at the front. have u gone over the whole thing, given it a good check for anything loose?

    Unless it is a knackered CAT/ loose fitting

    indeed i made sure to clip it back into the 3 points, I thought at first thats what it was, but it sounds like something metallic rattling inside something, coming from the exhaust near the front of the engine. Gotta take it in for a service next month anyway, if it is a collapsed CAT, is this a big expensence?
