    MK3 problems

Hi. Can anyone advise me? My Mk3 (1997) keeps conking out when in low revs - sometimes when I start it, it revs low and dies (alternator and engine mngt lights on) and sometimes when I go down into 2nd and slow down ready to stop, same thing happens.
Replaced alternator about 18 mnths -2ys ago and battery also about 18 mnths old.
The rest of the time it runs fine. Anyone think it could be spark plugs or HT leads?

    Welcome mate

I'm sure a gunked up idle control valve or throttle body would cause this problem.

I'll move it to N/A chat for a better veiwing of the problem

Thanks. I'm no mechanic - where will I find this and can it be sorted by someone who knows their way around a car?

Thanks for the advice. Can someone explain where this is located so we can try and sort it ourselves?
