    MK4 3DR Aerial

I ahev just fitted my full sound system into the astra the car came without any sorta system in it and the beesting aerial was foobared i got a beesting from a breakers and fitted it however the radio signal is shite

normally where i live you get excelent radio coverage however the astra doesnt wanna know.

    is this a common problem

    is it an easy fix

does anyone know howmuch a full new aerial will cost me from the dealer i.e the full lead and roof mount?

its a bit gutting really as i like my music and after slaving 3days fitting my system my radio aint workin propper and im a massive radio1 man i dunno how im gonna get by lol

A couple of common problems is that the aerial unplugs from the back of the headunit when pushing it back in. Also people forget to connect up the blue wire for the booster

Yep thats where you need to connect it. It's why alot of people disconnect it. You can cut a red/white wire at the MFD to keep the date on though

Without knowing exactly how bad it is it's hard to say what to try next. I have a spare aerial at work that I plug into each connection on the car to work out where the problem lies
