Thumbs Down cracked exhaust manifold! :(

looks like the manifold has cracked, i tried to sort a mysterious blow coming from the area the other week with fitting some washers as it has a habbit of being blowy on start up and quietens down when warm. i noticed a tiny crack between pots 3&4 so gave it a wipe over with some gun gum. sure enough its back again now and my fears are that its gone on the underside of the manifold.

looked at a dbilas one as they are stronger and dont want to be faffing around when babies get here. loos like cs4 will be shelved now. not a happy bunny.

Sorry to hear that mate, on the upside if you do get the dbilas manifold it will give you more power anyway.

    Gutted for you

Can you live with it for the mo' or does it need replacing ASAP? I think Regal will sell you a 2nd hand one for about 40-50 quids delivered.

dbilas manifold are advertised as thicker castings and better quality, which I don't doubt for a minute, but funnily enough, I'm sure there was a thread on here recently and a guy had to send his dbilas manifold back due to a crack !!

dbilas manifold and VXR turbo/manifold pretty much the same price IIRC so which would be the best option for you MM?

Could it be welded up for a quick fix while you save for the dbilas??

well considering i wont have much time for tinkering when the liluns get here i think it needs sorting ASAP (do i need to ring regal to ask them for a manifold then?)

i'm starting to wonder if my turbo has done 20k is it worth going for another one or just the manifold?
