    cdr500 cuts out when loud?

I have the standard cdr500 with my mk4 52 plate sxi, with the steering wheel controls n all that jazz. whenever i put it up loud it keeps cutting out, 1st the front, then the back, any1 know if this is a fault? Or just some kind of safety function to stop me blowing the speakers?

    Cheers

sounds like a fault to me, Is is a VDO or the inferior DELCO? as my old VDO cdr500 never missed a beat.

hey, cheers for getn back to me.

Its the VDO version, did you play it up pretty loud? Its annoying, it cuts out in the whole car for a split second, then the back ones come on, then the front one, and it keeps doing it until i turn it down.

As far as im aware its not been upgraded, cant afford to do that stuff just yet lol.

It may be that you have a speaker on it's way out, my factory headunit played music at full volume all the time

If you can, Try a differant headunit in the car, If it works o.k then its obviously your stereo if not then it will be the speakers or a wiring problem.
