Smile Siemens NCDR 1500 and Philips CD changer

    Hello!!

I've bought a 2001 Vauxhall Astra with a factory fitted Siemens NCDR 1500 CD player (which also comes with a phone plus GPS).

In the glove box, there is philips 4 disc CD changer but I do not know to use it through my NCDR1500..

The unit powers ON when I press the eject button and the 4 disc tray comes out and the unit seems to be setting itself (CD reading noise) when I put the discs (in tray) back in but there is no play button!!

I've pulled it out and there is a mini wire loom attached at its back with a black 8/10 pin connector. I do not know if the other end of the loom is connected to the NCDR1500 but if it is, what button do I need to press to start the CD changer.. There was a code written on top of CD changer but I do not if I need to input that and how?

I wanted to take the NCDR out as well to have a look at the back but if there a connection, that would be to the base plate not the NCDR, isn't it? Also would taking the NCDR out need a code when I put it back? (disconecting the main car battery and reconnecting didn't).

I would be grateful for all you help. Many thanks in advance..

Possible someone had an aftermarket head unit connected to the Philips changer and put the Siemens head unit back in before selling? Not sure why they'd leave the changer in though? May need a code for the Siemens, if it is a factory fitted one the code should be on a card with the owners manual/service booklet.
