LET filter into a 2.2 box

    Hi all!
Does anyone know if a (k&N) z20let filter will fit in a 2.2 airbox, and if it can does it need modifying?
    Cheers Paul

Bit of a late call Paul, but the Z22SE airbox is not wide enough for the K&N panel (replacement) filter (no. 33-2787) to fit. I ordered one for my Z22SE a couple of weeks ago, picked it up yesterday and found out they sent me off with a Z20LET filter...

Perhaps I could fit it, but chances are (knowing my skills) I'd ruin it, but this might be an easy thing to do for you or someone else? I don't wanna mess with it, so gonna try to get a proper one (no. 33-2213) just to be sure.

    Best regards,

    Paul

Haha... that's good for you but won't make things any easier for our mate here...

Got the details off the K&N site:

    'Custom' filter for Z22SE airbox:
    33-2213 Product Specifications
    Product Style: Panel Air Filter
    Height: 1.188 in (30 mm)
Outside Length: 11.5 in (292 mm)
Outside Width: 8.688 in (221 mm)

    'Custom' filter for Z20LET airbox:
    33-2787 Product Specifications
    Product Style: Panel Air Filter
    Height: 1.188 in (30 mm)
Outside Length: 11.438 in (291 mm)
Outside Width: 9.125 in (232 mm)

So the size does differ a bit... but like I said, perhaps amongst you guys there's plenty of knowledge how to adjust them to fit the airbox, but I know I can't get that in place. Either I'd ruin the filter itself, or the rubber surrounding it...

    Ta ta now...

    Cheers mate!
I did get it to fit with some careful trimming with a sharp blade. It took a lot of testing to make sureI was trimming in the right places but it's in now and is a good tight fit.

Good stuff Paul, glad for you mate!

See, that's what I mean, most guys here CAN get these kind of things sorted.

I'll have to wait till Friday, then I can pick mine up. Luckily the admitted they got me the wrong stuff, due to a faulty internetpage of their supplier...

    Best regards,

    Paul
