    Water pump removal

    Any one have any ideas whats the best way to remove a water pump from a Z20LET in the car??

    Is there a special removal tool???

    Nah its dead easy, you'll need to remove the timing belt first and the tensioner and left hand pulley i believe. It has 3 allen key head bolts with big washers holding it into the block. They can be a bit stiff but come out easy enough. I changed mine when i changed my timing belt the other week.

    sometimes they get siezed in with corrosion. If so get a straight bar about a foot long and a hammer and whack it out. Make sure you get the alignment peg in the same place as the one you take off (about 10 o'clock) else the tensioner will pull up incorrectly

    ive done 4 now, first 3 easy, 4th one on a veccy seized solid, took 3 hours to get off, it was in a bit of a mess by the end off it!!!!

    yeah mine came off easy, it was putting it back on that caused us problems
