    Is my tyre tread low

    would you say it needs changing?

    It looks ok from here, but instead of posting pics on site, why not take it to any garage and they can use a tyre depth gauge on it and give you and accurate measurement.

    Easy way to check is to see if the tread is down to the wear bumps that sit within the grooves of the tyre. Piccy looks like yours are OK but you need to check tread depth across the whole tyre width.

    Dont forget, even if the tyre is legal, the less tread on the tyre, the longer it takes for you to stop in the wet.

    As Bubba says, 1.6mm is the legal minimum. 3mm is the recommended time to change them though, as below 3mm there's a very sharp increase in braking distances in the wet.

    Looks OK at the mo (from what the pic shows anyway.) It will do for now, yes, but bear in mind what ZS said.

    At the same time, dont panic buy 4 new pirrellis!
