    On Z16XEP engines .The upper oil pressure switch might release oil onto the shield of the exhaust manifold . and the oil may self ignite? TO LATE £250 TO LATE... Check your mail

    Mines a mk4 1.6, but isnt the twinport model, ill check my engine code later when i have a moment.

    Yer i got one of these letters. I wouldn't worry if you ain't got a letter as its says there only recalling ceartain chassis (sp) numbers etc

    So if yours is faulty and is going be checked then am sure you will get a letter.

    Now jus find time to get mine booked in lol
    I would wright something funny and clever but does anyone read these anyway

    This actully happened to big ross (Astra-sxi) last year, thankfully he was just back in the drive and had an extinguisher to hand, vauxhall fixed, refitted and resprayed under warrenty... wasnt a pretty sight, id have to contradict "Astra Mk5 Teo" here (sorry mate) and say even if anyone has the engine but havent had a letter get it checked out... save yourself lossing your pride and joy... as the fire brigade said if it wasnt put out there and then, he wouldnt have had a car left.

    It seems my engine been a non twinport im okay, that code is as said above for the 1.6 Twinport model

    I dont think mine is a twinport? Then again Im rubbish with cars so could be lol!!!! Mines a astra design 54 plate and I got the recall letter today. Best way to check is to check you're engine number its for all engine numbers Z16XEP.
