    Airbox - Throttle Body Pipe

Strange request I know but is it possible to order the plastic pipe which comes with this kit on its own?

    http://www.knfilters.com/search/prod...?Prod=57i-7000

Was asking cos I wanna replace that part of the inlet piping on mine because it has a stupid big box attached to it to keep it quiet.

If not what other possible solutions are there to this?

    Thanks

I intend to get some aluminium ducting and replace the pipe. Bit bodgy but will work!

    I think parts needed are:

300 mm aluminium pipe (with sensor bit)
    90 degree bend
    45 degree bend

I was going to get the rubber bends as they are cheaper and would look better IMO.

Anyone got experience in spraying a pice of aluminium piping? I'd like it silver like the engine cover.

Just for reference I have found that the throttle from the Z18XE is very similar to the one for the Z16XE, but has a bigger bore of throttle. I am trying to figure out an inlet pipe mod to go ahead and fit it.

I also need to double check the inlet manifold throttle hole diameter to see if its the same as the one from a Z18XE, but all the connectors and mountings look the same (apart from the the dowels on the Z16XE but that is easily fixed by boring a depth of hole on the Z18XE throttle body.

Its just a resonant box, also kind of acts as an air reserve like that the inlet pipe to the air filter box does (usually replaces by a direct Vectra C Diesel pipe by most people).

id be interested to see if that works, as iv got a z16xe aswell, the z18 tb and a diblas inlet manifold could give some good improvements, im not sure how the ecu would handle the difference between the TBs as they are drive by wire

What about fitting a 1.6 or 1.8 throttle body on my little 1.4, surely the same sort of thing? I know Ffoeg fitted the 2.5 TB on his 2.2 - just same family of engines. How much is it likely to cost for a TB and how easy is it to make fit?
