    Question eibach springs...

    just about to order eibach sportline springs that lower 50f-30r just wondering if anyone has any problems with them, and if they would be ok on original shocks. cheers (i have a 2001 1.4 mk4)

    They will be find on normal shocks, and not heard of any problems with them, Dan

    Difference between the two? The weight of the extra two exhaust pipes must bring it closer to the ground.

    Most suggest that if you want to drop more than 40mm over a standard Astra ride height then it is best done with aftermarket shocks aswell...guess it just depends really - does dropping 50mm on standard shocks not make it a bit bouncy?

    mmmm just put 30/30 eibach springs on mine and im liking the ride, much nicer than sri springs, although I only got about 15/20 drop as expected. Any uprated/lower springs will shorten the life of the standard damper, and will make the ride more bouncy. Id say 50f is borderline on upgrading dampers to something more durable, when I drop mine lower I know Im going to have to change mine.

    i also thought it was to do with the age and mileage of the shocks? mine have done 53000 so think they might be alright? lol
