Want something that lasts ages (e.g. Collinte 476s) or something that looks good but needs re-applying frequently (unsure on this one, my car is black!)?

Silver is the hardest colour to get depth and gloss from. From products that I have used and heard from, I'd recommend polishing with Auto Glym Super Resin Polish, follow it with Poorboy's World EX-P sealant, then follow that with Auto Glym's new High Definition Wax. This should see some good relections mate. With HD wax, you'll probably need to re-apply it every 2-3 months.

You can buy Super Resin Polish from Halfords, EX-P sealant from www.cleanyoucar.co.uk, and HD wax is selling at around £30-35 on ebay (for this you get the wax, 2 applicators, one polishing cloth and a presentation box).

    Hope this helps mate.

Like GazTD said, silver is hard to get a deep shine from.
My astra is star silver, and although the pics don't do it justice I get a decent finish

on light metalics sealants are better. it gives a more reflective shine rather than gloss.

use eihter jetseal 109, 1z hartglanz (i have used this one and it made a big difference on my grey civic), zaino, or any other good quality sealant, if its poilshed properly with no swirls any lsp will add a bit of depth.

sealants tend to last longer than waxes
