Drill holes to mount rear number plate

Hi guys, i need to drill 2 holes to mount the rear number plate using some secure screws from Richbrook (the number plate is fitted on using double sided tapes atm), will it be easy and safe to drill thorugh the rear number plate area of the boot door? it there any wiring near inside that area? any help will be great, thank all...

If you take your plate off, there are already two mounting holes for screws in the tailgate.

I'm sure Vx will have the template for aligning drilling points on the plates, maybe ask them to drill them for you.

    Saves you drilling more metalwork!

Also, if it is in the correct place now, see if you can get access from inside the car where the existing mounting holes are, and back drill it.

If you drill them yourself always drill them from the back out, helps to prevent lifting the numbers off the front plate.

Not if you use a small drill to 'pilot' drill the holes first, then open them up to the correct size afterwards.
