Remote locking not working on the Key

One of the keys for my 2002 astra is not working, it did not have a battery, when replaced the light on it works but it doe snot locks/unlocks the car remotely. Other key still works though. WHat do you guys think i should do about it? ANy idea how much it would cost me to get it repaired???

You need to re-sync the key with the car.
To do that put the key ibn the ignition, turn twice, but dont start the engine, then press a button on the key.

    That should do the trick

open up the key (becarefull if your esd sensitive.
    open up transmitter,
gently bull the battery away from pcb, don't force it as this is a fault finding task.
with very little pulling force on battery holder try the button.
If led now works, go find a low power soldering iron and resolder the batter contacts.

I have given the key to the garage where i got the car from as he gave me the 3 months warranty on the car, dont think he ll be able to do much about it as without car he wont be able to sort the problem out. SO all I gotta do is insert it in ignition, turn it twice without starting the engine and then press unlock - lock - unlock, thats all?? Right???

Will give it a shot once i get the key off him. Thanks for the help guys.
