    Making a bumper grill

I have a Lumma bumper fitted and it comes with metal mesh for the grill as you can see.

I fitted the GSI fog light surrounds and wanted the centre bit to match too but none are available that fit.

So I bought a Vectra VXR bumper grill and flattened it out. To flatten it out I cut halfway through the honeycomb bit on the back in the centre and heated it with a hot air paint stripper carefully untill it was the contour that I wanted. This is my first attempt but its not perfect as it went funny at the end.

I laid my template over the top and marked where I needed to cut the excess off.

This is what I ended up with.

This is with it just wedged half in the hole but not in properly.

Not sure if I like it now though

ummm... not sure myself as before it looks good with the FMIC behind it,

with it fitted properly it will prob look alot better but i do think the irmy grille will look out of place with it though?

yeah i like it more before tbh.

one thing though, could you get the grill to sit further back? With the fog mounts they sit towards the back of the bumper leaving a lip around the edge. Think that could make it look better

It will leave a bit of a lip but not as much. Thats another thing thats putting me off.

The Vectra VXR mesh is really thick. I dont think the GSi bumper grill is as thick (But not deep enough for my bumper) so sits back further like this (The look I was going for):

Looks like its going to be staying as it was (But respray the mesh ready for PV)

Don't like that mate, looks much better with the normal mesh IMO. Kudos for trying though
