    Courtenay Stage 3 Problems

Had a stage 3 remap on friday at Courtenay. I'm going to ring them tomorrow to get their opinion, but thought i might ask on here see if anyone has had the same problem.

Set up went fine and produced some good figures. 267bhp and 300lbft torque.

Since i've got home and the roads had dried up a bit it seems to have a flat spot when driving hard after each gear change. It boosts fully and then drops away for what feels like a second or so and then boost builds back up again. When your drivin it, jus feels like it hits a flat spot as soon as you change gear...

I thought it could be either actuator, which is a vxr 1 and has been on the car for a while running standard power, or boost leak, but there is no signs of 1.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as Courtenay is a 5 hour drive away and don't wanna have to go back with it if it can be helped.

    Thanks

as enigma said gap needs to be reduced to .67 instead of .7 its either that or actuator needs adjusting a different temp outide and density etc, had good figures on rr so it aint the map

    Thanks.

I'm using Courtenay's FMIC, was on there when i bought it as well as the vxr turbo, but wasn't mapped. It's just the standard vxr actuator.

Has anyone got a link to page that will explain how to adjust the spark plugs? Tried a search but didn't really get much.

I'm still really happy with the map. Great figures for stage 3 i think. Had a custom exhaust from JP in Macclesfield and it pop and bangs now .

Also, quick question. Would it really matter if i put an airfilter on and blanked of the dv, as it sounds quite good. Or will the map not like me doing that?

Use a feeler gauge and give the spark plug a little tap and then check the gap

When i can get hold of some feeler gauges i will check that. Courtenay said it is unlikey as they would have noticed that on rr setup. They weren't 100% sure wot it could be. They have said it could be actuator or a solenoid. They have told me to try adjusting the actuator, could need turning up or down. I'm going to try it when i get in and see if it solves it. Could need an uprated actuator tho.

Bit annoyed that it was spotted on the setup, but doesn't really affect the pull in one gear, just when you change gear when booting it.

The boost on a mapped car is surpossed to do that it boosts eases off a bit then boosts more.

Not quite to that extreme though surely. i thought it was just meant to over boost, then settle, without dropping right down and picking back up again.
