    Question BMC or Pipercross?????

ok so last year i paid £160 for a bmc cda carbon airbox for my z18xe astra coupe, ye it made a lil difference n looks the nutts, but thinkin bout gettin a pipercross induction it now as most pple i speak to highly recommend it and think its much better than the bmc, not sure weather it is or not, so rather than waste 90 quid buyin one thought id see if anyones made the change n noticed a difference?!?!?!

    what diff are you wanting?

power then saty with the BMC.

noise then get rid of the BMC and get a Apexi....

heat soak WILL be a facter at some point.. all depends on what car you have really.

i personally have a BMC CDA on my coupe turbo and it runs fine.. looks good and makes no diff to sound!

I bought my BMC CDA around 3 years ago and back then everyone on here pretty much agreed that the BMC CDA was the best "induction kit" to have, better than the Pipercross Viper and any open cone kit. Though alot still said the airbox mod and k&n filter was better too and now they all say the 2.2/1.9 DTI airbox mod.

You'll always get alot of different opinions when it comes to induction kits etc and the difference between them will be minimal and differ from car to car. Save the money, you wont "feel" a difference and IMO will lose BHP cos I think the BMC CDA is better.

I have mine on a Z20 LET mind and not a Z18 XE.

ye thats the thing, was chatting to a bloke in kent performance a while back n he said that the bmc would only really benifit a larger engine, meanin the turbo coupe, n said he'd personaly recommend a pipercross, n a few other pple have said that too.
thinkin i might just get one from ebay or somethin n give it a go, n if i dont like it...sell it!
