VXR turbo to a Z20LET with standard map

    Hi,

Got lucky a few weeks ago. I discovered my exhaust manifold was cracked a few weeks ago with only 24800 miles on the clock so I ordered a Z20LEH turbo unit. The problem is now that the queue for the company that I wanted to do the remap is huge and I'm not going to get it done before august. Is it safe to use the LEH turbo with a standard map? I have a boost gauge so I can check that the boost wont go over 0.7 bar or 10PSI which is the standard if I'm not mistaken.

Yes you can run that turbo on the standard map no problem at all, a lot of people do.

wind the actuator down so it is about 4 threads from the end of the spindle and it will not over spool and wreck the seals

im running a vxr turbo on standard map, didnt touch the actuator either and its running fine, boosts 1/2 psi more than it used too so going to leave it alone.

it can overspool and wreck the bearings. Then you will be complaining that the VXR turbos are no good.

Yeah me too.............................Until about 30k later and the bearings were shot to bits.

New VXR turbo has been adjusted and its alot smoother too.
