    Which springs? MK4 SXi 02

Okies, unless the bonnet repair comes in dirt cheap and I do both, springs it is!

So, having a search on here it seems Eibach get some positive comments, but can't really find much else. My SXi sits ~20mm lower than a standard Astra. Looking at the car on level ground the rear appears to sit lower than the front by default, possibly due to the LPG tank in the back (though I run with little petrol mostly) or possibly due to the design of the front/rear arches.

I think that to keep OEM shocks and reduce the chances of clipping the front OEM splitter driving around for work, ~40mm all round seems the best bet. I know the actual figure depends on loads of things so not expecting a dead-on 40mm blah blah. I'd be tempted to go 35mm rear/40mm front but unsure if doing this fits within budget? I reckon ~£100 is sitting for the springs, should be able to get them fitted by a qualified friend, and then get the alignment/tracking set professionally.

So, suggestions welcome - eBay appears to be a cheap place for this type of thing, though even there Eibach appear a little over budget.

The Eibachs get superb comments here but they are at the slightly more expensive end of my budget - where did you get them and how much did you pay if I can ask?

I have the Eibach 30/30 kit on my SXI, and it's dropped the rear a little, but the front still sits pretty much the same, even though there was quite a difference in the spring length.

Handling has been improved, without comprimising ride.

If you want to drop it, then go for the 50/30 kit

Yeah mate they are on standard shocks, i was thinking about it for ages before doing it glad i done it now tho. The sxi/sri are 20mm lower anyway thats why the 30/30 drop has'nt made much difference on tho front of yours matt1206.

30/30 seems best for handling vs not too harsh of a ride - I'd 'prefer' some 30R/40F but not an option with Eibach. Be curious on discounts on the springs from LMF too, I found them about £10 on another site mentioned in the discount forum, none on eBay at the moment either.

More looking for handling over lowering though.

If you want handling, get the 30/30 springs and a Whiteline RARB.#

I know mate, I've been in Jamee's 2.2 Coupe which has 30/50 and that is quite a harsh ride on the front, and after going in Mark's Supercharged Astra (Courtenay) he's got the 30/30 springs (albeit with the uprated shocks as well), which is why I went for the 30/30
