    Catching

    Hi I have a astra MK4 SXi and have noticed something as if its sticking or catching when i go to pull off and sometimes change gear just like an automatic when it changes gear. Has anyone else had this problem if so can you help me!!!!

    Clean:

    Idle Control Valve (my suggestion is this is at fault here, though often replacing it is the full fix, strangely mine did this and fixed itself after a few thousand miles)

    Throttle Body

    Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve (EGR Valve)

    Check the how-to section of the site for guides too.

    Cleaning out the throttle body on mine made it run a lot smoother.

    catching

    Hi I recently left message to say about the catching when I accelerate, and have been adviced to clean the throttle body and Idle control valve but have done those things and it is still doing it, does anyone know what else I maybe able to do. Thanks for the previous advice though guys

    EGR valve is another one to check though I think many suggest it doesn't clean well and is better replaced. Same may go for the ICV if that is the part at fault, they are cheap I believe and easily replaced.
