    Recormend me a machine polisher

Right got another black astra and this one is totally covered in really bad swirl marks.
Decided to bite the bullet and get a machine polisher to get them out. Only ones I know of are the porter cable and the megs ones. What do you lot use and think is the best? Also can anyone recommend any good products to use with it? Its a sapphire black mk4 by the way. Thanks

I use the Porter Cable, but brought it before the Megs G220 was brought out.

I would get the G220 as it uses 240v so is so much easier.

I would go for this pack: Here
It comes with the G220, pads, backing plate and polish.

The only other things I would buy would be:
A set of 4" spot pads and backing plate
    Megs #7 glaze
    3434 Masking Tape
    And a decent wax

All of that and you will be sorted.

Also ensure you have your washing and drying technique sorted and lots of microfibre cloths otherwise you will bring the swirls back!

Well Megs G220 can br brought from clean your car for £149.99 here
But you will want the pads, backing plate and polishes for it.

Try shopping around for the best deal.

    There is:
    www.cleanyourcar.co.uk
    http://www.cleanandshiny.co.uk/
    http://www.elitecarcare.co.uk/
    http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/

Or even ebay or detailing world for a possible second hand one.

thats the goo dthinkg about the g220 its very very hard to do damage to your paint work as the heat build up isnt as much as the portacale for example, hence its the perfect beginners tool. Thats why i have one though im saying all this and still scared of using for the first time lol

The Megs G220 and Porter Cable are pretty muc the same. THey are both Random Orbital polishers.

Both has pretty much the same internals just one is 240v and one 120v. Megs saw a gap in the UK Market because everyone was importing them so made a 240v one.

But Random Orbital polishers do create significantly less cutting force than rotarys (i.e makita, metabo etc etc)

    EDIT:
    Lockdown, where do you live?

    User cp updated.
Was quite confided about using one but i've just been reading detailing world about sticky paint and paint thickness, stuff like that, says heat can build up really quickly without warning even with the perfect technique. Getting me worried a bit now lol
