Hev & Stu arrived Sat Afternoon with there 'flame red' GSI which had unfortunately gone slightly 'Pink'
The object of this detail was restoration and swirl removal..
so some before pics...
Roof and bonnet were the worst areas
They are having the alloys refurbed shortly as they have stained & corroded so Hev said not to bother, Just aswell because i tried cleaning them with everything i had and it didnt touch them!
Anyhow i cleaned the arches with APC then sprayed SD around the bottom half of the car ready for its foam bath..
Which consisted of snow foam, maxi suds and APC.
Car was then washed using 2 bucket method with maxi suds, Clayed using sonus green then washed again and dryed.
It stared to cloud over so i decided to get the car into the garage to tape up and ready for polishing
After finding out my PC was for want of a better word 'knackard' Lou ordered me a Meg's G220 which i found better than the PC - Heavier but with that very usefull handle!
Anyhow started on the Bonnet with a megs softbuff polishing pad and Menz Intensive polish - which i found was working but after some time so i swapped to a cutting pad and power gloss
50/50 shot after power gloss
finished off the bonnet then called it a night...
Next morning i did the roof, again with power gloss.
the rest of the car was not as bad so i went back to a polishing pad and intensive to do the rest of the car.
I then swapped to a finishing pad and Final Finish PO85RD (davey and stu did a great job of following me around buffing off the polish)
With the polishing finished i applyed CG EZ Glaze on a foam applicator pad then davey and stu followed again buffing off.
Again we called it a day with the car ready for waxing
So this morning i applyed DODO 'Orange Crush' and while it cured i cleaned the windows with AG fastglass, polished the exhaust with Megs metal polish and treated the plastics with 303 areospace - then buffed off the wax.
left the car 2 hours then applyed a 2nd layer of DODO then buffed off.
Before we rolled the car out the garage i gave the car a wipe over with sonus acrylic spritz
Anyhow! the results....
Needless to say im knackerd but really pleased with the results.
