Painting door handles on the car?

Is it possible to paint door handles on the car? I have side airbags so dont wanna mess the sensor up as thats in the door car and have to strip right back to the door car to get the door handle off right?

Also what would happen if i simple gave a light sand, cleaned with white spriting, primed, light sand, white sprit and painted? would it just rub off? or would it look poor without all the sanding? My friend works in a body shop and he was telling me you dont have to send plastic, just prime it and spray it?

    Thanks guys.

yeah you can spray them on the car, but get better results off the car,

as for the sanding part I would have thought you need to sand them to get the paint to key to it, but im not sure

you can paint them on the car but it will look shit, as you'll never get paint in all the nooks and crannies

Best best is to get two spare door handles, get them painted and the just swap them over

And yeah you do need to sand them, to get a smooth surface (ie get rid off a grain pattern) and to key it so the pain adheres better

3m do a tape for fixing badges on, but id think getting the tape into the right shape would be difficult, and how do you accidentally pull a badge off?

i wanted know how it was held on, and someone must have tempted with it before me coz it was on hold on with a little part of glue at the tom, nothing at the bottom at all. Now i got it off, i want it smoothed but my dad says i have to dent it so that the filler would stick as it wont just stick in 1 hole, might just buy a new badge, seems a lot easier.

Stuck it on with 4 dabs of special Glue Sorted.

No need to be scared of removing doorcards or anything to do with senors in the door just because of side airbags ,
Disconect the car battery negative lead for at least 10 mins ,Then you can disconect any wireing to do with airbags without them going off , The only down side is setting the window onetouch and radio settings if it's an aftermarket stereo
