    Sorn

I have recently sold my astra, but I now want to use my brothers car as he is in London at UNI and it is not being used. (he has agreed to let me use it btw)

Just one question though, it is currently declared sorn and I was wondering if there was anything other than simply taxing and insuring it that i need to do before I can drive it? I have had a look on the DVLA website but to no avail.

    Many thanks

O yeah didnt think about that, i think it is. My dad seems to think there is something else you need to do, to sort of declare it back on the road? Is it just a matter of these 3 things then? Tax, insurance and mot?

I would have thought the act of taxing it would declare it back on the road as it would "void" the SORN (for want of a better description)

Take the MOT certificate, insurance policy and your payment to the Post Ofiice.

No forms to fill in, just pay for the tax. As already said, that in itself "un sorns" the car.

Did exactly that at the begining of April.
