Are the three best quotes I've got so far for my lil 1.6 16v mk3 REALLY that good..?
the car's my 1.6 16v Sport. valued at £600, 4yrs NCB, 23yo, unmodified, no claims/convictions/accidents etc. First off, as I always do, I got a variety of quotes through Tesco Compare and through Confused.com, and I'm now at the stage of doing the ringing round to see what comes out cheapest...
The best three so far are:
- Tesco £297.70 (£264.60 + £23.10 Legal Cover) Excess = £450
- Norwich Union £325.00 (£305 + £20 L/C) with £25<£75 cashback once taken out (therefore £250 < £300) Excess = £320
- Post Office £361.98 (£337.98 + £24 L/C) with £50 cashback once taken out. (therefore £311.98) Excess = £150
now, having just rung (to see about AOC discount) and The AA (who are my current insurers) they have both turned round straight away (when I told them my best three quotes) that they wouldn't be able to compete, so wouldn't bother going through my details etc... WTF? I thought AF would be one of the cheapest and yet they say they can't go anywhere near those prices..! Are the three quotes I've got so far (bearing in mind they were some of the first I got) really that great that no-one else can compete?
