    reset your service light.

Sorry if this is old news, i had an INSP dash warning for a couple of months now, no way im getting a service on 8000 miles even if it is over 12 months old. Found out how to get rid of the message and it worked.

Out of interest tried it on the wifes W reg astra 1.6 - its had an em warning for 2 years + including a main dealer service, and now INSP as well.

It cleared both !! Try it if you need to !!

Here's the exact VX procedure from their manual...

Resetting the flexible service interval (ECOService Flex) with TECH 2

The display for the flexible service interval (time and kilometres) can be reset via the instrument assembly. The engine control unit communicates with the instrument assembly.

    Manual resetting

Ignition OFF. The tachometer display must indicate the trip odometer reading.
Press and hold down reset button (trip odometer button)
Switch ignition ON and wait until the service interval display changes and keep the reset button held down for at least 3 seconds.
After 3 seconds, the tachometer display indicates the symbol with the maximum mileage, 34.000 km for petrol engine or 50.000 km for diesel engine.
The time counter in the instrument assembly is set to 24 months. The engine control unit receives a signal via the CAN bus and the "oil condition" is set to 100 %. The engine control unit and the instrument assembly are now reset

Note mine just changed to " ----- " and so did wifes. worked anyway.

it's in the manual and has been covered on here loads of times.

One thing baffles me, Why not get a service after over 12 months???
    Gaz

    No longer owns an Astra

Bye bye VXR Castle Combe Edition - because it's done more laps of Castle Combe than most Bergs have of the Ring

... because vx service is absolute garbage, I do want it done but car wasnt used for 4 months, actual road time = 8 months and 8000 miles. I want it done on 10,000 really.
