    1.8 hesitation

Hi i have a 2002 astra coupe 1.8 it has covered around 107000 miles and recently seems to have lost some power somewhere! when putting your foot down it seems to hesitate through the rev range also when letting off the throttle the response isn't smooth and kinda lurches! the engine management light does come on and my code reader displays fault code p0170 fuel trim bank 1 malfunction. recently the 2nd lamda sensor has been replaced. some people have suggested the air flow meter is at fault however i'm not too sure what the above fault code is all about! all help much appreciated.

Hey man can you tell me what happened in think im getting the same, it happens when im in 2nd gear and 3rd gear at about 15-30mph and putting my foot down the car hesitates and jerks slightly until the car goes a bit faster then disapears.

Got almost exactly the same issue on my Mk3 (X16SZ), it drives me mad. Especially on overtakes and down-changes, it just hangs at any swift throttle movement, the revs take a second to catch up. Also jerky when you lift off too.

The 02 sensor (Lambda) has been changed on mine already, so I'm guessing its some form of flow sensor thats at fault too. But kind find anything in the Haynes Manual.
