MK4 Astra Steerting wheel controls for new sterio

Hi, I don't really know much about cars.

    I have a MK4 Astra 1.6 8V 2001 Y Reg.

With the built in cassette player, the steering wheel controls used to work.

I baught a new Sony CDX-GT410U and now my steering wheel controls do not work. Halfords say to get that to work, I will need a cable costing £30.

Can someone tell me please which cable I need:
    name
    where to get from..ebay?
    and how to fit.

    THANKS.

you need the adapter that goes from the back of the radio to the plugs that plugged into the radio, not sure on price, could try ebay, but with halfords if it doesnt work you could take it straight back, but ebay it can be a pain

As the steering wheel controls were working before when I had the standard sterio, wouldn't I already have a lead in there already.

Because i'm thinking I'd at least have the Pc99-X06 but maybe not the PC99-Son as that is related for Sony. And this lead is only a few quid anyway.

The Pc99-X06 lead is more expensive but i'm thinking it should be in there already?

Unfortunately that isnt the case mate

You need both PC99-X06 and the SON one. as that converts your stalk controls to that specific brand/make of unit, its called a patch lead

There are other stalk controls conversion kits, from connect2 aswell

    Give them a try
