    dumb air filter question.

I deristricted my airbox today, and have a slightly stupid question-

what does the standard astra G air filter look like?

I opened mine up and the air filter i have is green foam strips/fins with an orange surround, I have a sneaky suspicion that its an aftermarket one rather than the standard paper filter, could i be right?

it might explain the mystery extra few bhp when i had the car RR'd

    ta guys

Mine is/was orange surround with light cream paper fins, it's an OEM vauxhall one I think though the paper is the clue. Not sure on the brand but if it is foam fins then it isn't OEM...

Mine was orange round the top, rubber outside and felt squishy and foamy on the fins, should be a normal one as I havent put an aftermarket one in.

Pattern alternatives to the standard Vauxhall filter may vary in colour but have the same material construction - concertina paper with grooved rubber edging.
