Newbie needing help after a rear end accident to our Zafira

    Hello

A couple of weeks back some muppet decided not to apply his brakes and instead plough into the back of our 01 Zafira Elegance 2.0dt. Thankfully nobdy was hurt but the car was not great.

Anyway, it has been repaired and has just been return after having a new boot, bumber etc.

The reason for my post is that the straps that were used for holding down the jack and tools under the cover in the boot were left in the rear cup holders. I have had a look and there now doesn't seem to be anywhere to which to fasten the straps.

I am dreaming that there was a couple of holes that the straps fit into. I must admit I think I only looked in there twice in the few years of owning the car.

I have just been trying to search for pictures of the tool area to get some evidence together to go back to the bodyshop with and am struggling.

I wonder if anyone could confirm there is a strap to hold the jack bag down and also whether anyone knows of a place I can find a picture of this.

Fingers crossed the car is going to be OK after the repairs.

    Thanks in advance

    Chris

    No, you're not dreaming:

It's possible they replaced the panels with non-GM ones to save money I guess.

Mine got rear ended on the motorway about 2 years ago.
Took 5 weeks and a repair bill of over £3500 to the others insurer to sort out.
Apart from a bit of trim that seems 2 millimetres out it's been fine.

    Ouch.

You might notice the sellotape holding the left light on. I was able to drive away, and was going into Leicester. light wasn't in at that point ( had no tape on me) and I couldn't indicate to get off the bloody roundabouts.

Had to close my eyes and grit my teeth that day.

    He...

About 18-19, driving a pick up laden with bricks and wood the same way he thraped his fiesta probably.

Stopped at the roundabout J21 m6 ( I think) and heard a screeching of tyres and got shoved into the traffic oncoming from the left.
I Slammed into reverse to avoid them.

I think he was more shook up than me, as he wouldn't stop swigging from his 2 litre bottle of 7-up.

That or he was trying to wash the liquid lunch he'd had out of his system in case the cops turned up...

Fricken hell drew, you came really close there to having it written off didn't you? And to think if it had been we wouldn't even know you or have your bus to look at.

I still reckon I would have replaced it with another zaf,
If he'd hit me harder I might have gotten a GSI

    Thanks Guys

The body shop are sending someone to look at it this morning. Apparently there is an adaption kit ????

You accident looked similar sort of damage to ours although I think ours was more below, it seemed to lived the car and back end up. The boot look etc was all twisted.

The y guy that hit our car was 18, he was checking out a passing school girl and turned at the last minute to see our car had stopped. Fortuntley forus, a police car was sat near by and witnessed it :-)

    Thanks again guys
