Opel Insignia: escaping the first official photos!
We thought we should wait no longer: the presentation of the new Opel Insignia is expected for the month of July and Exhibition in London, but AutoWeek has just published what they seem to be precisely the first official photos-apparently leaked in advance of the new-media Rüsselsheim.
After the many spy photos and official teaser, here is therefore the look dell'Insignia final. The first impression is that, as promised by Opel, the line is dramatically different from that of the Vectra, where this Insignia has gained a lot in terms of dynamism and "sex appeal". His arrival will be celebrated on the market in October and range engines promises to be rather broad.
Despite still missing information officers Opel, is already talking about a 1.6, a 2.0 and a 2.8 V6 Origin Saab 250 from HP (all three turbo) for petrol and "usual" 1.9 common-rail Origin Fiat, which will be offered in powerstep of 120, 150 and 180 hp with regard to diesel. Over and above the twin-turbo will be placed then a new 2.9 V6 and finally reach an OPC version accredited approximately 300 hp.
...and editorial comment by GM Insider News
If they ARE official, it seems much more upscale than the outgoing Vectra. It also makes me wonder about the positioning of this product when Opel debuts it. The concept was very very aggressive and sporty - this seems much more upscale and refined. Could there also be a sporting version in the works that retains these attractive characteristics of the coupe?
The article says that the real release is supposed to be at the Lond Auto Show in July. The article also says that GM's new 2.9L V6 diesel will debut with the sedan too.
Remember you heard it on AOC first
