... of my miserably failed detailing attempt lol.
Car was pretty filthy, so I gave it a good wash. my favourite method is to use a cheapy pressure washer (only coz I can't afford a decent one!) and a single bucket. I cover the car with soapy solution from the washer (a close to snow foam as I can lol) then go over the car with a mitt, topping that up with shampoo from the washer. I use the single bucket to rinse the mitt often. Then I go over the car with just water to rinse it.
Ok then. So I dried it. Next I applied Meg's Stage 1 paint cleaner. BIGGEST MISTAKE OF MY LIFE! This stuff really is a sod to work with. I spent an hour trying to buff it off, with it still streaky. By then it had gotten dark and I was literally exhausted (I'm weak, scrawny and desperately unfit!). So I just had to leave it over night. When I woke up, I was severely annoyed to see that it had also rained overnight. No naturally the car is filthy again. So this morning, I went over most of the car with Meg's quick detailer to get rid of the dirty rain spots.
OK, finally I can get on to the polishing. I started off with the bonnet to see what it looked like. Annoyingly, I saw no apparent difference. OK I thought, instead of finishing the rest of the car, I got the Meg's stage 3 wax out and applied that to the bonnet. And again, I saw no real difference. So either this stuff is crap, or I'm applying it wrong and/or being the lazy. We all know that Meg's isn't crap, so I obviously am lol.
Anyways, here are some pics of the botched detailing session.
Oh yeah, I didn't even bother to do the wheels, other than rigorously blasting them with the pressure washer!
Take a look at my garage to see the before pics.
As you can see, nothing impressive, but at least's its clean and reasonably shiny!
Can't believe it needs cleaning out again! Bloody pets! Even though they're banned from the car, their hair still manages to get in some how!
