A bit of an oil problem!!

Hi hope someone can help me, new to this forum I have what I think is the 1.7 gm low blow engine and seem to have a problem with oil getting in the exhaust which smokes like hell until burnt off then seems to be fine until left again and it builds up again need to get it sorted as have to have an emissions test soon.

    Welcome to the club,
Don't want to scare you but it doesn't sound to good, 1st check that all your breathers and the Air Filter are not blocked or soaked in oil, but it sounds like an bigger fault, Turbo, Oil Cooler, ect. You should get more post with helpful sugestions.
Once again welcome and hope you get this sorted.

If oil's getting in there, then it's the oil seals in the turbo.

And thanks zs sounds like a good pointer in right direction are the seals in the turbo reasonably straight forward?

Straight forward for a turbo specialist, yeah.

Your best bet is find a used turbo from a scrapper and bung that in, though you also have to be aware you may need to bleed the oil feed to the turbo.
