    Which Airbox Mod?

I am almost ready to take my Mk4 GSi to Courtenay for CS3 Map. It's got a VXR Turbo, Full System, FMIC and Courtenay pipework. Before i get the map done i was looking into doing something with the air intake.

I could either go for the 2.2 Airbox conversion, but have heard that the Mk5 1.9CDTi conversion is better. Or just a Cone filiter/induction kit of some sort. If i did do that, i would route it the same a the airbox conversion, ie, do without the pipe that sits over the engine. Seems that it gets quite hot.

Also, would like to know wot is involved with the VXR AFM? Is it a difficult thing to change to, and is it even worth it?

Which do you think is best? Who's had any of these done? Which give best power figures etc...

Also if any one has any pics, i'd be greatful...

    Thanks
    Astra GSi Mk4

i have the 2.2 setup mate, i am very happy with it, but if i was starting from scratch i would go for the cdti airbox just as i think its a tad bit neater looking, imo they are both as good as each outher, so no clear winner in my eyes.

same here cant fault the cdti air box plus i think the cold air is more direct to your turbo without going over the top of your engine through the x-over and possibly getting hot. but thats jst my personal opinion

Thanks for the replies. If i go for the 1.9CDTi airbox is the vxr afm worth adding aswell, and does the box need modding to fit it?

i had the 2.2 but would go for the CDTi now if i had to choose, then if your getting a remap anyway should get the VXR AFM, they dont cost loads and at least you know it will last longer than a week,
