    p reg 1.4 single point

Hello i have just bought a p reg 1.4 astra LS, It has the single point fuel system and the insurance company have said its a group 8, does this engine have 82bp or is this only the multipoint injection?
Also is it possible to convert it from single point to multipoint ?

    Thanks

the multipoint is 81bhp and that would be the C14SE

as yours is the spi then Im guessing its the C14NZ or X14NZ - these are only 59bhp - not sure of insurance group but would imagine its circa 4-5

converting it to mpi wouldnt be that difficult presuming of course u can strip the donor of all the relevant parts

get onto the ins company and tell them they are wrong!

Tbh I think you would be better off doing a complete engine conversion for the hassle its worth changing to a multi-point. Would be much more easier and you will be spending around the same money imo

IMO spending only 500 on a car is going to be more trouble than its worth, you'll struggle to get a decent reliable car & probably end up spending at least that again to keep it on the road for more than a year, If your thinking about buying a 1.6 mk3 Astra you will find that there stupidly expensive to insure compared to a 1.6 mk4, Just remember "you get what you pay for"

I have a 1.6 16v Astra Sport sitting here looking for a new home. No probs that I know of. If you know a bit about me you will know the car has been looked after well. Bodywork has a scratch down passenger rear door and wheel arch but mechanically it is great. Also it is amazing on fuel too. Put £500 in my pocket and I will even leave the tax on it too. Metalic Anthracite type colour. 5 door
