    whining high pitched noise!

just out of interest does anyone else get a high pitched noise when car is first started? can hear it till up to about 15mph then goes.also noticed a very thin layer of oil around the top of my boost pipe near the top hat end and around the dump valve spout (no d/v in place).does that sound normal?cheers in advance for any educated help!

it is normal for there to be a thin layer of oil in the boost pipe mate, is the noise only under acceleration or is it a rotational noise which gets louder the faster you go then goes away as soon as you reach a set spreed

sounds like it could be fanbelt squeal? wil it go away if you rev the engine while at idle?

not a big problem if its just a fanbelt squealing then its just a case of fitting a new belt.
while the old belt is off check for play in the alternator, aircon pump and fanbelt tensioner. also check they all spin freely.
you could take the fanbelt off and start the engine to check if the noise is there without the fanbelt. if not the do what i suggest above. should get you sorted
