    The Vxr Turbo Unit

    Hey

As some of you know I am now going for the VXR turbo unit on my astra sri turbo.

Getting it from courtenaysport. Ive read up on the vxr astra and it says it does 0-60 in 6.2 seconds. May sound stupid but if i place the vxr turbo on my car will my car then do 0-60 in 6.2 seconds, or would it have to be remaped to do this?

I would have said that my sri turbo was a lighter car than the vxr is this right?

You will not hit 0-60 in 6.2 seconds just by fitting the VXR turbo, you will need a remap to achieve that.

Your SRi is probably lighter than the VXR yes but with inferior traction from standstill i would imagine.

it would have to be remapped to make full use of the turbo.
you would be best off getting a bigger intercooler as well as exhaust and precat. you would then be upto over 260bhp your 0-60 time will then be around 6 seconds if u can get good traction off the line.
The in gear acceleration you will see the most noticable difference.
the SRI turbo weight is 1272KG
    the VXR weight is 1318KG
SMIC, miltek catback, precat, Thorney remap 242.7 bhp 281lb/ft torque

Intercooler will still cost around £300 using a Universal one so depends on what you classify as a lot of money, still a lot cheaper than the £500-£600 regal +CS charge.
