    Just joined - Hi

Hi, I'm Matt, 22 and living near Portsmouth. Thought I'd better introduce myself here, not sure if its the right section, but I'm still finding my way around.

I drive a 5dr 2003 Astra 1.6 SXi in Ultra Blue I was having a little look around doing some research when I stumbled across AOC.

I'm an active member on AON (recognise a few familiar names on here) so i'm not completely new to Astras.

Anyways, I'll stick a few pics up... and hope to get amongst what AOC has to offer some more.

Nice Astra you have there... I like those wheels in particular. You have any further plans for it?

Thanks for the welcome, I've got a few plans in the pipeline:-

    - HIDs are getting fitted on Monday
    - rear disc conversion (just need to find out which handbrake cable i need)
    - fit coilovers and get it on the deck
    - considering a 308 upgrade on the front
    - full leather interior if i can find one

I'm always finding things I want to do to it and my plans are always changing. I'm still in two minds about how much work I want to put into this car though, I'm looking at getting a GSi in the future, just not sure when.

Cheers Lee. I'll be in touch about those brakes. Had no joy from DEEJ but I found enough info here to safely say its do-able

    Welcome ,
    nice looking car,
I like your headlamps was thinking of getting some for mine, but been told that they are not as bright as the standard units, so might have to upgrade to HIDs at the same time, what do you think are they much worst than the standard units?

Cheers, I recently fitted the Angel Eyes and I'm really impressed with them. I expected the lamps that came with them to be fairly rubbish, but they're not.
The sidelights aren't as bright as standard lamps, but the main beam seems stronger. I'd say that as they stand, the performance from the Angel Eyes is better than the standard, and upgrading to HID can only make them better

    Hope that helps

Thanks for the advice Matt, i might aswell save my money for the moment and not bother with the HIDs, as i can always fit a kit later if i want.
