Astra-H should overtemp warning light come on during bulb test

    As title

A friend with a Mobility Astra-H is questioning the lack of temperature gauge, which is normal, and the fact that the warning light for over temperature doesn't come on during the start-up sequence.

Can anyone confirm it should light up at start up, like all the other warnings?

So how can you check if the bulb is working or faulty?

I know this doesn’t answer your question but my wife just bought a new Ka, like the Astra H it doesn’t have a temp gauge and somewhat disconcertingly it relies on a warning lamp to indicate a problem which, guess what, isn’t designed to light up when starting. If the bulb/circuit is faulty who is to know and what’s to prevent you cooking the engine in that situation - bloody stupid design.

Its an LCD on a single circuit on the canbus so it will throw up on Tech2 if it fails.

Thanks for your help so far, sorry to keep questioning you - would the EML be lit and a fault code stored if the LCD bulb failed?

No EML that i know if, but code stored for sure as it loops with the other warning lights - it could illuminate the EML i just dont know if it does 100% or not sorry
