    My old Calibra Turbo

I have only been able to find two pictures of my Calibra Turbo, which is a shame as alot of work went in to that car...here goes:

It was orginally an H plate 16v, I took the engine from my MK1 Astra and swaped them over (the Astra was sold with an XE in it).

A six speed gearbox was fitted (FWD) along with 160 mph clocks that illuminated green on the MPH parts.

The engine was remapped and a charge cooler fitted (it's water radiator is fitted behind the mesh in the bumper).

5 stud hubs and brakes were fitted from a Turbo along with a leather interior.

The boot had a custom sub box with clear back built in along with a monster Alpine sound system.

The car was sold as it sat when I bought my current house in 1999......shame as I knwo the car is no more and the last I heard the engine was in an Astra GSi.
Tell me what you've done, not what you're going to!

    Used to love those.
Nice to see you didn't ruin the exterior of it by slapping bits of plastic/GRP all over it.

Nice looking car that one, is that the 5spoke Courtenay Design wheels on there? Hve to admit I really liked my Calibra Turbo, given the Calibra was launched nearly 20years ago it still doesnt look that old a car.

The Calibra roof line is the same as the Astra Coupes and you're right DD the shape still looks as good today as it did 20 years ago!

They are the CS design wheel, well Speedline Allesio 2 wheels (17" 5 studs).

Its frightening to think back to the launch of the Calibra and think it was 20years ago, we had a big unveiling evening back when a new car launch was something special and not a near on weekly accurance as it is now.

i agree, I loved it. Colour is Iceland blue. Was only a 2.0 8V special edition 6, but at 17 it was quite cool to have!
