    sports button on the coupe?

my dad has a veccy vxr, which has the sport button.

is this basically just a change of map when the buton is activated?

if my coupe gets a remap, will it be possible to have the option of a sports button to switch from standard map to sports map?

    cheers

The standard sports button on the Mk 5 doesnt change maps as far as i know.

It increases throttle response and steering rate, but essentially the map is identical.

You can have switchable maps but i cant remember how they are managed, sure one of the turbo mk 4 guys can confirm though as a few of them have it

Regal offer a switch when going for a remap. AFAIK it isn't a separate map, it just limits boost when turned off, and gives full power when on.

There may have even been a guide on here to making your own switch, as its nothing to technical IIRC.

    EDIT
have a read of this thread, its just a resistor inline with the BCS. Not 2 separate maps

I'm sure you could get a switchable map. The difference would be so slight on an n/a Astra that it would be pointless though imo.
