    Insurance Claim

    Hi Guys,

    In 2006 i had an accident, i didnt claim, but the person who i had the accident with claimed.

    Is there any way legally of removing this claim from my insurance?

    No, sadly you must declare any accidents within the last 5 years to your insurers. Fault or non fault, even windscreen claims.

    It doesn't necessarily make a difference to the premium though.

    An accident must be advised to your insurers. If it is not your fault - that is your insurance company did not shell out any readies, then this does not count as a claim as such. But be on the safe side and disclose everything.

    Insurance companies will try and wriggle out of paying a claim if they can. This is not just 'hear say', I've been told this by someone who previously worked for an insurance company.
    It is only when the last tree is felled, the last animal killed and the last fish hauled from the sea that we will realise we can't eat money.
