Went to get my MOT yesterday (Passed by the way), and noticed a white VXR ... drove closer and it had those chequered flag stickers on it and the white Alloys. So obviously it's a Nurburgring and had the little circuit badges on it too.
Pics, as u do ...
So anyhow ... first time I'd seen one and as your all very aware I'm not a fan of the Astra VXR (or VXR brand in general), and did this car make me change my mind when I seen it in the flesh/metal? ........ no.
I dont like the stickers (though they can be removed yes?) and the white wheels dont (imo) look good against the white paint. The exhaust looked like the Milltek one so it's not really new to see that on a VXR and I couldnt really see anything else that was different.
Anyhow, there was another car just a few down .... Arden Blue VXR on the factory 19's ... Though I wouldnt have either ... if I was forced to choose I'd pick the Arden Blue on 19's. Not even a hard choice to be honest.
The Arden Blue one just looked so much sweeter, I do like that colour ever since it was on the mk4 GSI. The 19's also look better than the white multi-spoke's on the Nurburgring. I dont mind multi-spokes (obviously) but white on white just didnt do anything for me.
Oh yea and the salesman was trying to sell it to some guy as I was walking out to collect my car and I overheard him say "yea the exhaust boosts power to 260bhp" ... I felt like saying "so does my backbox increase mine to 220bhp?" lol.
Anyways, question ... why did Vauxhall use a Remus exhaust when they've always seemed to have a "thing" with Milltek? (both 888's used Milltek, the VXR performance centre sells Milltek IIRC along with "top Vauxhall tuner" Courtenay Sport etc)
Was it the end of the Milltek contract or something?
