    Power sounder replacement

I am about to tackle the replacement of my power sounder in my 03 astra coupe. I have the how-to printed out but is there anything else i should be aware of first?

I'm just a little worried if it goes wrong the car will be stationary or need to be reset by vauxhall technicians!

    Thanks

straightforward and easy to do. Remember to have the ignition turned to ON when you disconnect and reconnect the powersounder.

Well so far it hasn't sounded again since i replaced the part! Took each step exactly as the how-to guide and everything went to plan. A very simple job which took 30 minutes to do, but for extra re-assurance i ran a slither of silicon around the seam to double protect from water as i think this is what caused my problem in the first place!

Been thinking about this power sounder problem , and like you say it is down to water getting into it , looking at it there is enough slack in the wireing to relocate it in the engine bay i reckon it will fit on the underside the battery tray , but there may be a good reason for putting it under the wheelarch maybe it doesnt react to well to heat ? but maybe fitting some air ducting from around the grille area to the power sounder might keep it cool if need be , maybe someone on here will be able to answer why it is fitted under the arch

I can't see a reason why heat would activate the sounder but you are right, there must be a reason for its positioning.

I had a look when i had the arch lining off and it seemed quite clean. I live down some country roads which have lots of puddles and shallow floods during rainy periods...this is what i think has damaged it over the years.

If anyone has re-located it then it would be good to hear where!
