    What a mess :(

    Happened yesterday. Am gutted

worst of it was that it was my leg/hip that caused the dent

Yesterdays lesson: Never start the car from outside and check its not in gear.

Any ideas how much it'll cost to sort? The 3/4 is really dented and the door has a small crease line in it too

Its hard to say but i would guess on the regions of £500-600 + vat

From the pics i would say it would require a good 3-4 hour repair average bodyshop labour charge is around £25 per hour.

This would give the panel guy time to pull the panel back straight enough to allow minimal filler work.

Most body shops will replace your mouldings so the cost of them.

Paint work wise, depending on your bodyshop and who they use for their paint depends on wether they will need to blend into the doors.

We use Debeer paint at work (dutch company) and 90% of our blacks that we use we get and edge to edge finish so we dont need to go into the door cutting paint and prep times and then overcost of labout and materials

    Hope this helps

"sorry just re read your post"

Just noticed you said that theres a small crease in the door.

Theres 2 ways we would sort this out, we would either try a ADR which is using rods to lift the dent and avoid painting, this only works if its not in a hard to reach area or on strenghting bar, aslong as the dent isnt to big chances are it could be lifted without the need to filler and paint.

If its to big then its a small repair and paint the door, aslong as the paint keeps the paint nice and tight to the repair then there will be no need to go into the wing

i wish!!!! ill try get some pictures up of th bruising later.

was gettin a new hu fitted at a place near me. so one of the guys put the car in the workshop to work on it. another guy took out the standard hu ready to put in the new 1 but couldnt find an ignition feed for it.he asked me to turn on the ignition so he could check it. So without asking if the car was in gear or not (forgetting i never moved the car cos i always leave it in neutral) turned on the ignition and the car moved 5-10 feet forcing me into 4 stacked tyres and pressing me into the 3/4 panel. it was scary how much force i must hav put on the panel for it to bend as much.

BTW the panel was knocked out slightly before the pics were taken today!
