    Remote feed

Need a remote feed for my amp, I thought a speaker to rca converter i brought simulated a remote but no, it was a ground wire!

Is the aerial powered, could I take a feed from there?

    Or

Is there a switched live for the factory headunit I could take it from, There must be something like that to fire up the HU when the ignition is turned on.

    Ideas?

The MK5 aerial isn't powered but there is a spare pin on the headunit labled "AR" that is the remote output

failing that apparently there's a spare power line down near the accessory socket - downside of this is that it'll turn the amp on the whole time the ignotion is on, but on the plus side it seems easy to get to and just a case of joining 2 wires together!

Ok cool, so you say spare pin, I take it there is no crimp and wire on the connector then, Anyone one know where I could get some crimps from, I manufacture cables as my job so im sure we will have a tool to crimp it but we dont do much automotive so prob not got crimps.

If you have a spare ISO connector you can rob the pin out of that and use it

yea sure, Not sure on the ebay speaker to rca adaptor to be honest though, tip and the ring on the rca short, so audio shorting to screen, sure it's not right. Will buy an adaptor from halfrauds and probe it out to see if it's the same. Can take it back then if need be. Also I thought the blue wire simulated the remote, but it is a ground wire, althogh it is only linked to L!! Was looking to get stuck in this weekend untill i looked at the adaptor, Then the rain
