Unhappy Lowered Half my car last night... haha!

I can laugh about it now but i wasnt laughing last night.

Firstly i've never lowered a Astra before but i thought how hard can it be its ony a set of springs! 50f-30r Eibachs for those how are interested.

The night started off pretty good with the back geting done in no time at all.

Then the front.... what a nightmare, never even got the wheels off!!

The locking wheel key split when i tried to take the front drivers wheel off, talk about raging!! I hate locking wheel nuts the always break, in my experience, so i wasnt best pleased!

So as you can imagine my GSi looks pretty cool the now, kinda like a speed boat on full power!!

Now i need to figiure out a way of gettin the locking nut out.

aye... there were all over tight!! rediculious!

Its not the bobbins style, its like a Star shape in the middle of the key.
The outer edge of the key has cracked/broken making it difficult to hold the key in place. Its a right pain in the arse!

I'll get some pics later on.

Vauxhall will supply you with a new key mate - albeit at a price! If the actual nut is undamaged then I would seriously recommend not trying to bodge it off. Speaking from experience (and 3 hours with a welder in my mates garage) you don't want to balls up the nut!

Just go to a tyre fitting place they have proper removal socket to get them off.
